Laser safety comes first

Many of the machines discussed here are Class 4 lasers. Their beam, and even its reflection, can cause permanent eye injury and start fires in seconds. Our guides describe equipment; they are not safety training and do not replace the manufacturer's manual.

Wear eyewear rated for the exact wavelength of your laser, or use a fully enclosed machine.
Never leave a job running unattended, and keep a suitable fire extinguisher within reach.
Extract and filter the fumes. Some materials, including PVC and other vinyls, release toxic and corrosive gas when lasered.
Follow local rules for workshops and for running a business with this equipment.
