Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-11-06
The short version
- Laser Gear HQ has no accounts, no comment section, no newsletter and no sign-up forms.
- This site does not place cookies in your browser.
- Visitor statistics are counted without cookies and without building a profile of you.
- The only personal data we hold is what you choose to send us by email.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy describes how lasergearhq.com handles information about the people who read it. It applies to this site only. Stores and brands we link to have their own privacy policies, and those apply as soon as you leave our pages.
2. Reading the site
Every request your browser makes includes technical details such as your IP address, browser and operating system, the page you asked for and the page that sent you here. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes these details to deliver pages and to block abusive traffic, and may keep short-lived server logs for that purpose. We do not use them to identify readers.
Article images are delivered from a content delivery network (Bunny.net), which receives the same kind of request data when it serves a picture. Our fonts are stored on our own server, so loading a page does not send a request to a font service.
3. Visitor statistics
We count visits with a self-hosted installation of Plausible Analytics. It sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses: the address is only used, together with the browser string, to compute a temporary identifier that changes every day, so a returning visitor cannot be followed from one day to the next. What we see are totals: pages viewed, referring sites, countries, device types and clicks on outbound links.
4. When you email us
If you write to contact@lasergearhq.com, we receive your address and whatever your message contains. We use it to reply, and to fix the guide you wrote about when that is the subject. We do not add you to any list, and we delete correspondence we no longer need.
5. Cookies
Laser Gear HQ itself sets no cookies and does not use local storage to track you. Once you follow a link to a retailer such as Amazon, that retailer may set its own cookies, including one that records that you arrived from this site so a commission can be credited. Those cookies are governed by the retailer's policy; you can block or clear them in your browser settings. Our affiliate disclosure explains how these links pay for the site.
6. What we never do
We do not sell personal information, share it for advertising, or combine it with data bought elsewhere. There is no advertising network and no social-media tracking pixel on this site.
7. Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to its use. Residents of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have these rights under the GDPR; California residents have comparable rights under the CCPA, including the right to know and to delete, and we treat every request the same way. Write to contact@lasergearhq.com and we will answer within 30 days.
8. Children
The site is written for adults buying workshop equipment. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13; if you believe a child has emailed us, tell us and we will delete the message.
9. Where data is processed
Our providers run servers in several countries, so request data may be processed outside the country you read from. They are bound by their own data-protection commitments, including contractual safeguards for transfers out of Europe.
10. Updates
If the way the site works changes, for example if we ever add a newsletter, this page will be updated before the change goes live and the effective date at the top will move. Questions about any of this go to contact@lasergearhq.com.
